Fall 1995 – Some International Pagaent Dealy…
This was me nine years ago. I’m (obviously) the black girl in the middle 
. My hair was relaxed and slicked back into a frenchroll (or a bun or something…I don’t remember). I just found this picture online. Now…you’d THINK with this smile I have I would’ve been flashing my pearly whites huh?
Not me…I hated my smile back then and it’s a shame don’t you think … tsk tsk … no wonder I didn’t win (but I placed 14th out of 84 gals 
). I can’t believe I thought I had an ugly smile back then…
…*sigh*, youth is so deceptive at times. 
Boy let me be 19 again and in that show, they’d be so sick of me and my personality, jokes and smiles they’d mail the crown to me before the pagaent

Deceptive, that’s so true. But were you a bit shy or something in this pic? If you flashed that smile of yours, you wouldn’t have had a hard time entering the top 10!

… I suppose I was a tad shy (as I am now if you can believe it) but really the issue was I didn’t like my smile. Thanks for the kind words.
