Working in a hair salon may be a pleasant experience for most, but for at least 20 girls from Togo, Africa, braiding hair at salons in New Jersey was a horrific experience.

Trafficked from Africa, the girls braided hair for long hours with no pay.

After being smuggled into the U.S., they were forced to surrender their passports and were forbidden to learn English. Some were sexually abused.

I agree. I used to frequent braid shops but haven’t in years. I never like the atmosphere and this article doesn’t help on bit.
