This past Saturday The Cubicle Chick and I attended the Nordstrom Fits America event at the St. Louis Galleria Mall. The new Nordstrom store doesn’t open until September 23rd, but this pre-opening event allowed us to check out their new lingerie department and get fitted by bra fit specialists flown in from all over the country. Our fitting was scheduled for 9:30am and our fit specialist, Maggie, made sure we were well taken care of.
Due to my apparent lack of couth, I started taking pictures while in the dressing room:

The pink wrap hanging on the left, and on me on the right, felt so soft and luxurious I wanted to take it home (in a different color though). Unfortunately I could not locate in the Nordstrom website but if you visit the lingerie department you can ask them for the “Calypso Wrap” to feel its sensuous wonder for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Ooh. la. la!
Maggie started off by measuring me, then brought several bras to try on. I’m still perplexed by the size she chose for me … definitely not what I had been wearing: smaller in the band and larger in the cup. Who knew? I did leave with a complimentary bra in my new size so I’ll have plenty of time to try out the fit. I do have enough couth not to post pictures of me in my skivvies LOL!
We were on our way to a late breakfast, but I did manage to grab some shots of the department in progress. It’s gonna be fabulous and the selection is amazing!

We both shopped till our hearts content, and I believe Miss Thang actually left the store with some of her purchases ON (’cause sometimes it bees that way LOL). Beyond the bra, I was given a complimentary panty as well as sweet swag like a DKNY umbrella, a MAC lipstick, a gaggle of beauty samples and the cutest tote on the planet!
St. Louis, if you missed this event, don’t fret! Two of my co-workers went to the Gala Wednesday night…over 1500 people registered thru Missouri Botanical Gardens ( they will receive some of the donation along with COCA. Hear the event was fabulous. Too bad I didn’t scedule to be off Friday instead of today (Thursday). I did though get samples of some of their fragrances when I attended the Art Fair in Clayton, they had a booth so you could register to get newsletter.
I haven’t heard a peep from any Gala attendees but I know 1 person who was going so I’ll wait for her to report back on how swanktastical it really was
