Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch

My husband’s sister got married (remember when I had her dress) and we had the opportunity to stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown St. Louis located directly across the street from The Gateway Arch.

As expected from my picture-happy self, I’m sharing the digs with ya’ll in a little pictorial. Like to see it? Here it go!

As an interesting aside, this hotel used to be the Adams Mark back when I 1st moved to St. Louis in 1997.  I stayed there when I interviewed for my first job out of college (how I ended up in St. Louis btw). They have since then remodeled the entire hotel. Very nice indeed.

I was SO happy to see a Starbuckles and I promptly got my newly beloved green tea latte,  however all joy was lost when I found out that the prices at this location are inflated compared to other Starbucks in the area.  I ordered a Tall and paid more then when I usually get a Grande of the same drink. #fail  I had a mind to hand her my drink back and start turning over tables but … I did not. #falseAlarm #selfControlUnderDeCaffeinatedPressure LOL!

Our room was nice, my favorite part was as expected … the view of the arch. I also liked the atypical shape of the room, the sink area in the bathroom, and the use of floor-to-ceiling mirrors to give the illusion of more space.

I was there to attend a wedding (and used to be an event planner), so I have to add some shots of the event space!  Here is the ballroom on the 18th floor that adjoins to an outdoor terrace.  I follow several photographer’s blogs and have seen photos of events in this space before, so I was too excited to finally get to attend an event there. It’s absolutely beautiful.

The ceremony was held on the outdoor terrace, then it was converted to a dance floor for the reception.

We had a nice time dancing the night away, then we retired to our room and … barely slept. First it was the phone ringing (someone forgot their cellphone in one of the tuxedos we’d already collected to return the following day then the couple called at the buttcrack of dawn because hubby had to sign the marriage license as a witness) … then it was the WEED someone insisted in smoking circa 3AM that permeated our entire room and hallway *cough*.  We planned on waking up early and getting a move on but after being awoken several times that night I wished a ninja WOULD’ve tried to wake me up! … uh I mean, we … as a couple …  decided to sleep in. *heh*

The next day we slept late, skipped breakfast, got late check out and head over to our favorite: The Burger Bar in the Lumiere Casino for lunch.

I would definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency to anyone visiting St. Louis, MO,  or just wanting to go downtown for a little staycation action. Every employee I encountered was beyond helpful, friendly and personable and the location is unparalleled.  I’ll post what I did with my hair for the wedding soon.

Until next time Glam Fam I wish you

That is a great hotel. I used to stay there when I worked for INROADS. I see Starbucks is still high! LOL
