October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM).
Since its inception 25 years ago, NBCAM has been at the forefront of promoting awareness of breast cancer issues. [They] remain dedicated to educating and empowering women to take charge of their own breast health by practicing regular self-breast exams to identify any changes, scheduling regular visits and annual mammograms with their healthcare provider, adhering to prescribed treatment, and knowing the facts about recurrence.

One week ago I found out that someone close to me was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Although I know several cancer survivors and have participated in Susan G. Komen sponsored events, this is the first person I’ve personally known with breast cancer so this month I feel compelled to do more. Visit NBCAM.org for more information about National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Do you know anyone affected by breast cancer? Do you plan on doing anything for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
Until next time Glam Fam I wish you

Hi….
My aunt battled breast cancer like a champion until it overtook her last year. I am now on a personal mission to do what I can to raise awareness for the cause. I will be running in a 5K on 10/16/11 to show my support. **Go Pink!!!**
I’m so sorry to hear that :*(. I was thinking I’d find a walk or something to do this month, even with my crazy schedule. If not I’ll find some way to support the person in my life with breast cancer. Thanks for commenting!
roshini…i work for a cancer center in tampa fl. I run a program focus on cancer awareness…in particular in underserved communities. For several months i have been thinking about approaching you about a partnership to deliver breast cancer awareness education to your subbies. I have been hesitant to ask…but you post motivated me. Would this be of interest to you? More about my programs at http://www.moffitt.org/diversity. My email at work is [email address removed]. Look forward to hearing from you one way or another.
Absolutely! I have a c.r.a.z.y. schedule this month BUT I want to do my part. I’m erasing your email address from the comment and I’ll email you right now to follow up. Thanks for reaching out
