Trying To Concieve

by glamazini on January 19, 2012 in Kids (Ini Luv The Kids),Life

Psalm 127:3-5
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy, blessed, and fortunate is the man whose quiver is filled with them!

Written October 12, 2011

I’m not pregnant (yet), but as I sit here wondering for the 3rd time this week WHY my right underarm stinks and my left underarm does not (more on this later) … I pray I may be (pregnant, not stink *heh*).

It might seem strange, but it JUST dawned on me to even document this journey toward “knocked-up-ed-ness”  on my blog #doh.  I’m not gonna publish this post until later), but until then, this will give me a place to dump my thoughts about trying to concieve.

Wow, I’m “trying to concieve”?!  *insert heavy poignant music here*

It’s a long story for me … I would’ve NEVER thought I’d even been writing this post, much less wanting to have a baby.  I suppose what all them there elders told me years back in response to my “I don’t want to have children” statement  was true:  “You will.”  Fancy that.

At any rate, the short version of the long story is:

  • I’ve never wanted children
  • About 2 years ago I started wanting them
  • I’m 35
  • I’ve never been pregnant, tried, or had any experience where I might have been pregnant
  • Hubby and I started trying at the end of August {post ovulation so it kinda doesn’t count}

That said this has been a new experience for me. I think the thoughts are what surprise me the most … like “Do I work?” and “Oh no, I got my period, DRATS!”.  It’s only been about 6+ weeks into trying, one ovulation cycle, so we’re totally within the normal timeline of couples trying to concieve (from my limited understanding).  At this point we’re not being super strategic either (as in I know when I’m ovulating and all that but we’re not like “We must know each other (in the Biblical sense) twice a day around my ovulation or ELSE!”.  We’re totally not there yet.  Just enjoying each other (as usual) and getting it in (as usual) and seeing what happens.

Stinky arm pit story: I don’t now what’s up but lately my right armpit has gotten pretty aromatic around 3PM. The left one is as fresh as daisies. What in the world?! :|   At first I thought it was just me forgetting to put on deodorant in the busy rush that is my life, BUT I’ve been intentionally putting it on now for the past few days because I’m aware of the right pit’s total defiance and BOOM! circa 3:30pm I caught a whiff and thought “you disrespectful summuma!”. #trueStory.  Antyhooo … I’m not happy to be stankin but I will be happy if this is a precursor to me finding out there’s a person baking in my uterus.  Or … or … I could just be forgetting to put deodorant under my right arm lately :| #failure.  Stay tuned!

I’ll add another entry if I feel the spirit move.

Until next time Glam Fam I wish you

Great post. I’ve been married going on 9 years.. I was prego 1x and it was by my hubby (pre engagement days) and that was a no go due to complications. Never again since then. We had a round of invitro and once that was a no go I left the idea alone. I know they say it could take up to 2 or more attempts, but that entire ordeal was so much on my mental and physical that I let it be. I hope you will be joining the club of prego Gurus pretty soon of YT.. ie Blackonyx, Kimmytube and ohh geesh I forgot her name she does makeup tuts and is natural as well… and is beautiful lady like the rest of you ladies.

Best of luck in your journey and Blessing to you and your family.

Don’t stress about it. When hubby and I planned #2, I think it took more than 3 ovulation cycles for it to work. It was funny yet exhausting..literally. One month, I think I was sick one week and we “knew” each other 5 straight days. I was like..boy..don’t look at me for a week. ;-) However it all worked out in the end. Have fun :-)

5 days in a row?! O_O Well go on and get it in, I ain’t mad a you! We’re not doing that (per say) but one time years back I did 30 days in a row on purpose. Wait, were we talking about kids? :-|

Reply

20 BigTickles January 20, 2012 at 7:41 am

Yeah I used this ovulation calendar which showed you the perfect time to get it in. Every month it highlights 5 days. I guess it covers the days before and right after the perfect time. Here is the link

http://www.ovulation-calendar.net/ovulationCalendar.php?MenstrualPeriodMonth=1&MenstrualPeriodDay=5&MenstrualPeriodYear=2012&menstrualCycle=28&lutealPhase=14&gender=0&months=1

Hope this helps …have fun… ;-)

I’m praying that they Lord help you get that baby ASAP!

One word of advice – if things don’t pop off in the next few months, don’t hesitate going to see your doctor to make sure everything is working like it should. If I had done that, I would have saved myself months of aggravation and stress.

God is good, 36 years old and expecting #1 in six weeks :) Wishing you and your hubby all the best!

I’m 38 and husband is 43 we were both getting a bit anxious as we went on the route for IVF-but we took time out- husband ate more healthily and we both started accupuncture(highly recommend and i think i will always continue to have it now) and boom! its been a special time as we also got married last year.

I would just like to say good luck to you and will keep you in my prayers. Everything will be just fine, you are already blessed. I’d also like to suggest you check out a book called:”Taking charge of your fertility” by Toni Weschler. I stumbled upon it with a friend and it’s chock full of info about cycles, fertility, conception and general reproductive health etc. At first blush it seems to be a guide for people dealing with infertility but really all women could benefit from the info. Check it out, it’s on Amazon or look it up in your local library.

That book is FABULOUS. After my son was born, I used it to help prevent conception, then after a number of years, when we decided we wanted a girl, we used it to help us determine to conceive a little chica. It is a really good book, and yes, we got the girl, and on the first try, lol! I’m 38 now, and not in a rush for more, but upon telling hubby about your pregnancy, he declared that he was, “Reading in the Word” this morning about having ” a quiver full” and wondering if that was a word from the Lord. O_o

Congrats and many blessings on you and your hubby. This is an exciting journey. Enjoy every moment of it.

Psalm 127:3-5 was and is my bearing children verse. When my husband and I were starting our journey in August, I took hold of that verse and all the verses that talked about “the fruit of the womb”. I know your time will come on His timing. I also used preseed which is good for trying to concieve. Now we’re 3 months. I know you both will be good parents

You have motivated me (once again) to write about my TTC, miscarrying, TTC, miscarrying, surgery, recovery, TTC journey. I’m reading these post backwards but realize that you are preggo and I’m so excited for you! I can’t wait to read more post and maybe even see vids about cravings, etc. It’s funny that 3 people I subscribe to on YT are preggo, all in different trimesters I believe.

You totally must share if you feel lead to. I know so many ladies who have had different experiences with TCC … from multiple miscarriages followed by natural twins, to trying for years and nothing yet, to fertility treatments and bed rest, all experiences. I love reading and encouraging others. All the best!

I just watched your videos and wanted to say, Congratulations!
You and I are right here on a lot of our getting preggo journey.
Just like you, for a long time I thought I wasn’t having any children. Then I got married and a year later, the baby bug hit me like a bus. I had never been pregnant or even close to thinking I was before we started trying. Well, the 3rd cycle I was preggo and we were over the moon! I was 33 when I got pregnant and turned 34, 2 weeks after my babygirl made it earth side.
Anyways, congrat’s again and I’ll be checking in to see how it’s all going. I’m so excited for you!
