I washed my hair once in July #kanyeshrug #dontjudge
I’m not even ashamed to admit it. I’d just had a baby, just put my hair into braids literally the night before going into labor, and … well … I left my hair like that for a long time.
Before we get into the wash, where did we leave off? Oh yes here:
with me taking photos of my braided updo while in the OBGYN’s office in labor. Nice. #glamazinisuckas.
Moving right along …
… since my mom was in town, I took advantage of the help to *FINALLY* take the braids out of my hair and scrub the dickens (and gunk) out my scalp.
Here’s what I looked like when I finally got all the braids down:
My mother saw me with my hair like the photo above and said “Is that all your hair?”. Ma’am? O_O … Of course it is … I have YOUR HAIR!!! O_o
I never did you ever #rollseyes #sucksteeth.
Moving right along …
… so I did a serious wash with some diluted castile soap, washing , rinsing, washing again, then rinsing again to really get my scalp clean. I did buffer the second wash with Dove conditioner on my strands so my hair wouldn’t feel super stripped. I continue to say that washing my hair now that the texture is looser AND the sides are shaved is SO. MUCH. EASIER. I can go from dirty to fully styled in 2 hours which was *unheard* of before. I am noticing the new growth at the roots coming in and fighting back though. My plan is still to cut it all off eventually but I’m having so much fun with it like this AND I think this cut may be the best thing ever come wig season (fall-winter for me ’cause I sweat) so ya’ll may have to live with this samauri cut for a little longer than expected.
Moving right along …
… here I am after my wash:
You can clearly see that I am still natural AND my texture is looser in some spots. Look at that disrespectful almost straight piece on the bottom! SMH
I whipped out my blowdryer and did this:
Which whoissugar proceeded to call weave. #hatersgonnahate
Moving right along …
… I styled and did this:
And the next day I grabbed a picture of my old faithful style, The Dollup Updo, that I recreated as usual because it’s mad quick and easy:
Stay tuned for more hairscapades and stories of mild verbal abuse from my mother
