On this 5th day of November
I am thankful for …
… a phenomenal group of local friends.
I’m not from St. Louis. Matter-o-fact I was born and raised on a tiny 32 square mile island approximately 1,400 miles away from the Show Me State, St. Louis Arch and Cardinals baseball. And yet, even with no other blood relative (barring my son) near me for hundreds of miles, I have more than one close friend in this city who considers me to be like a sister AND who I could call at 3 a.m. with an emergency and they would come no questions asked. Not only that, most of them heffas are now married or boo’d up so I am surrounded by a solid group of “have my back” “covenant relationship having” Christian couples who share my life in this home far away from my Virgin Islands home. We laugh together, we cry together, we travel together, we celebrate together, we mourn together, we dance together, we eat together, share each others homes, time, energy and lives in a way that could only be of God. I am beyond blessed. I do not take them for granted because I know I could have been here in St. Louis isolated and feeling alone, but not so. God has given me more friends that I could have asked for … exceedingly abundantly more. And good folk too, not no riff raff HA!
So what are you thankful for? Let me know in the comments below.
See you tomorrow.
