See how I disappeared and came back with 3 days worth of thanks like nothing even happened? O;-)
Moving right along … I am thankful for
The opportunity to be someone’s mother
Many women try for years to get pregnant, both naturally or with some help, and yet never know what it’s like to have a child of their own. I had a human being growing in my stomach, and I am still amazed. At my age (a brisk 37) and in this age of massive online story sharing, I’ve been privy to story after story after story of women who have felt the pain of infertility in one way or another. I am thankful that I was able to conceive my son (on the first attempt), and carry him for 38 weeks and 1 day with a pretty uneventful pregnancy (well … if you don’t count the whole Spina Bifida thing *shrug*). I did not have to be given that gift so I’m thankful.
I am also thankful for (’cause remember I owe ya’ll 3 this time)
Being born and raised in the beautiful Virgin Islands
Do I have to explain this one? I was born and grew up in paradise. I get to go there all the time just ’cause. Paradise people.
Ok and number 3 is I am thankful for
Yep, I loves (yes loves) me some pie of a pumpkin persuasion and I dare anyone to come by tryna take cards away and all such foolery. Long live the delicious store-bought pumpkin pie just like momma used to buy LOL! No but seriously, next week I will be bringing my own pumpkin pie (and a can of cranberry sauce just in case people are really trippin) and taking it with me to Thanksgiving din din with the family. I won’t risk either not being there. Oh and I don’t do sweet potato pie either, only pumpkin and apple. Say something! #nomnomnom
Know anyone dealing with infertility? Ever been to the Virgin Islands? Pumpkin or Sweet Potato? Let me know in the comments below.
See you tomorrow.
