    Ini, Thank you so much for all of your hard work. Your website has been my safe haven for the bad days when i want to give up on my hair. You always inspire me. I’ve damaged it from wearing weave styles and now i have to fix this mess i created, but with the help of your site i will come through like i always do.

    Thank you!

  • glamazIni

    @ Toyshia, thank you for stopping by and posting. I’m glad my site has helped you and been a safe haven (is it safe even when i’m crazy LOL!!). Blessings! ~ ini

  • Adeola

    Ini, you are one of the most down to earth people I know online or IRL (and I’m the most down to earth person I know! lol). You have been an encouragement to me in my own natural hair journey which I started in Feb 2008 after my hubby chopped off the creamy cracked strings that were residing on my head. I don’t need to tell you that you are a beautiful,hilarious,crazy lover of life who is impacting her world by His grace but I will,lol! Imma have to borrow your catchphrase-‘go be cute’ because I just love it. Blessings to you and your sweetheart!

  • Donna

    Ini,

    I chopped the poison out of my hair Dec. 29, 2008 on a whim and as I see it, it was meant to be.

    Following your life’s journey has inspired me to continue without a second thought as to what others think about the “real” me — I was raised very conservative with every hair in its perfect place (my parents think that I have lost my mind).

    I have a natural beauty that God created and I intend on brandishing it with grace and glory.

    Thank you for your guidance and taking me and so many others along on your journey through life.

    May God continue to bless you and yours!!

  • Shinika

    Hi!

    So I just discovered this website and I am so excited! I have been natural all of my life, but just have been recently(within the at three years) learning how to take care of and value the hair God gave me! I am also from the Virgin Islands(born and raised) and I am part of a Christian dance company! I feel truly blessed to have come across this website!

    God Bless

  • glamazIni

  • Veronica

    Roshini, I have tracked your website of and on since ’05 when I first went natural. Now four years later I wish that I had paid more attention to your tips and suggestions because here I am again trying to find a way to maintain a healthy head of hair. I’ll take good notes this time! I love you from afar and thank you so much for your taking the time to maintain this site. I also thank you for your open acknowlegement of your belief in God!!!

  • Laviyah

    I am so glad I found you again. I was a stalker of roshini.net for years, then you disappeared! Good to see that you are still going strong!

  • Shirelle

    Hi Ini!!! I hope I subscribed/joined right. Anyways, I just wanted to send a short shout out. I am looking forward to keeping up with you over on these parts. And yes indeed, everyone at the job is loving my hair. Recall that when they last saw me, I had long twists šŸ˜€ Now I’ve got plenty of short curls. Have a great night (hugs)….

  • T NoLye

    Blessings Ini šŸ™‚

    I have been happily nappy since June 2007 and like you I am a dancer (liturgical). I was led to your site from a posting you did on hair sisters re:Indi Afro Weave. I’ve gone to your site everyday since! I have gotten so many ideas from you and your product reviews are EXTREMELY helpful. Just when I was ready to go back to “Lyeing” God led me to your site. THANK YOU for truly living the rule “To whom much is given, much is required”.

    Napp on Sista!

    Wonderful! That just brightened my day (seriously). So what have you decided for your wedding? I wore a twisted bun but since last week’s photoshoot I wish I’d done this strawset with a birdcage veil ’cause it is SO HOT!!!

  • BrooklynnsMom

    I am so glad that I was able to find this site. Everything that I have seen from your hairdos to your wedding to getting to know you has been very inspirational. I am transitioning and I receive a lot of negativity from my friends about my decision so its a blessing to have somewhere to go and see progress.

  • glamazini

    @Brooklynnsmom————–>
    Glad you’re here. Hope I can inspire you as we both go on this natural hair journey (I’m still learning things too). Welcome and blessings.

  • puregoldlady

    ditto what Veronica said. I started my natural hair journey in 2005 (transitioning then big chop dec 2005) and proceeded to ignore my hair for 4 years.

    I have only recently begun to try and treat it well and style it another way besides “wash-n-go”

  • Kat

    I just found you on youtube tonight, and spent the last 1 1/2 hrs caught up in your videos. You are a breath of fresh air and a fello caribbean girly like me.!! Keep it up! Continue to be blessed and fly!!! Kat

  • Raedell

    Wow…I’m so glad to have found this site! Over the past 6 months since my last creamy crack fix I’ve found tons of blogs & vlogs about transitioning and caring for natural hair – but none who have detailed their journey so thoroughly and with such a great personality that oozes out of even your written words.

    This is the first time I have ever seriously considered going natural – but I am in need of a change, of some renewal, and would love to know what my natural hair looks like! – but fear of the unknown has been holding me back. You have inspired me and I sit here with my third installment of extensions contemplating – to perm or not to perm.

    No perm it is! Maybe I’ll even document my own journey in hopes that I can pay it forward and be a blessing to someone else.

    Peace & Blessings – I will be watching!

  • glamazini

    @Raedell———–>
    Oh wow how sweet and wonderful! Yes my site begun as a way to keep me accountable, now almost a decade later is just too much fun for me to stop! Welcome and God Bless!

  • Launie Barnes

    It is funny because I came upon this website when doing a google image search on box braids and I clicked your picture. I have been natural for a year and nine months now. I barely have my natural hair out simply because I don’t know what to do with it. I have been going through my series of micros, kinky twists and sew-ins
    :-). I am slowly working towards getting dreads but I have not decided yet. I’ve looked through whis website and you have really gave me a new perspective on natural hair! Thank you..I just had one question. My hair is really dry it never seems to retain the oils that I put in it.I am not sure what products I can use. What do you suggest?

  • glamazini

    @Launie —————->

    Thanks and welcome to my site šŸ™‚ … it really depends on your hair type so all I can do is offer suggestions. For me, oils only help hold in the moisture on my hair, they do not add any moisture. That said, you can try to do things to moisturize your hair then think of the oils as a sealant, not as a moisturizer. For moisture I drink a ton of water, use humectant products (be careful, this contributes to frizz), spritz my hair with water, conditioners etc, and use shea butter. The oils I do put on my hair are then able to coat the strands and help the moisture from the previously mentioned items stay in my hair. I hope that helps! I’m gonna post your Q&A on the main blog because I think it would be helpful to other. Thanks! ~ ini

  • Lovie Dovie

    I was just browsing on youtube and found your channel and I must say you have become my Online natural hair guru!!..I have been natural for going on 5 months, and I had been blogging since september and I just not too long ago decided to include my transition from damaged to happy hair–And I just wanted you to know that, through the people that I have found on youtube I have learned to embrace my natural hair and that it’s something to not be ashamed of! THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION!!–because I was borderline chemical relapse a couple of times..especially when the new growth got thick!..LOL!….

  • Jocelyn

    First, let me start by saying that your Spirit is so beautiful, you definitely see, “The God In you”! I came across your page, roughly 5months ago. I must say, since i’ve stumbled across this treasured blog/vlog i have been estatic about my newfound natural look, and life in general! I have raved about your site to all of my friends. they think i’m crazy, but that’s everyday all day:)! Anywho the decision to go natural, was something that came naturally. I am a Trini gal and my hair has always been curly, even with the relaxer in my head. Everyone was confused on why i was relaxing my hair, since it was soft, curly and very much manageable!The decision of going natural wasn’t really the problem for me, it was the “Big Chop”! Since i was going through an early mid life crisis(lol, i’m only 29),i was looking for change,but the chop actually didn’t turn out that bad. Your vlog/blog journey has been the best thing that i have come across to help me with my outlook on life,my inner and outer beauty,and not to mention my walk with God! I’ve been blasting, and singing the song that plays when your video comes up on youtube.I don’t know you, but thank you and love you! God Bless!

  • glamazini

    @Lovie Dovie————>
    Thank you and all the best on your natural journey šŸ™‚

    @Jocelyn—————->
    That post just made me smile from ear to ear (btw, my best friend is Trini). Thank you so much for your kind words and all the best on your hair journey.

  • glamazIni

    @Deepi—————>

    You’re so silly! Love you too Dee! DEEPI! DEEPI! DEEEEEEPPPPIIIIIIIII!!!! šŸ˜€

  • Shavaun

    Hey Ini,

    Like many others I have been following for what feels like forever! šŸ™‚ 1)I just wanted to say thank you soooo much, stumbling across roshini.net helped me to solidify my decision to go natural, 2)you are a B-E-A-U-tiful person both inside and out and I wish you continued blessings, (ok, im winding down, promise) 3)Hair question/suggestions please–W/twists how do you maintain them (wash, moisturize, re-twist,scarf or satin bonnet, etc.)? I saw your “Black Wash 1/28/09” post but consider me like windows 97 to your windows 7 šŸ™‚ Thank you again for continuing to give me the inspiration to keep on going & “be cute” in all my nappy glory šŸ˜€

  • glamazIni

    @Shavaun ————————->

    Hola! Thanks for the kind words and support, I appreciate it! With twists I may rinse, I may not…just depends on how I feel, how icky I feel they are getting and how long I wear them. Every night (no matter the style) I sleep on satin be it a scarf, bonnet or pillowcase. That is a must! Always moisturize your ends, I go for every 2-3 days. If I rinse twists I do not manipulate them at all (to try to lessen frizz and unraveling). I basically stand under the water and let it roll through my hair for what seems like forever. I may lightly massage my scalp with some castile soap but no scrubbing and and rubbing (honestly, I don’t do much scrubbign and rubbing when I wash my loose hair either).

    Hope that helps! ~ ini

  • naomi

    Hi Tall Angel šŸ™‚ … Thanks for stopping by, I’ll have to check out you site!

  • Joselyn Coogler

    Roshini,

    I started following your blog about 6 years ago. I am now happily nappy for 6 years. I locked my hair 5 years ago and now have a beautiful mane of natural hair. I made the decision to stop straightening my hair after 42 years and it is one of the most liberating and affirming things I have ever done. Your site was an amazing support system for me on my journey to natural hair.

    Blessings,
    Joselyn

  • glamazIni

    @Joselyn ————————>

    Oh wow *blush* … thanks so much for the kind words hun & blessings on your journey šŸ™‚

    Hi there, I’m looking on the net for ideas for my son’s long natural hair. I saw your picture and you look so much like someone I know. I am from St. Thomas, VI. I graduated in “92 from CAHS. If I am lost and confused please forgive me but if I am correct and there is a chance we went to school together please respond.

My question to you is what if they tell me its too late and I will neva have my hair back what do I do?? the rest of my hair is fine now except my edges..would love to wear my hair natural but I cant with no edges?? If you could please right me back that would truly help me..THANK YOU:) xoxo Cici

  • glamazini

    If anyone was curious, turns out I did know Roxanne šŸ™‚

    @Cici ———————->

    Unfortunately, if a doctor tells you that your hair will not grow in there isn’t much that can be done. I’m sorry. There is a lady on YouTube going through this very thing from wigs and glue and you may want to contact her. She is getting some sort of shots in her head from the dermatologist. Ouch. I’m not familiar but here’s her channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SongbirdDiva4Life

    Ini,
    I came across one of your videos when it was featured on curlynikki and the first thing I thought was that I liked your style and this chick is too funny. I immediately went to youtube to check out your videos and have been hooked ever since. I have been natural for almost a year (sometime in May) and I am truly enjoying it. Thanks for the new ideas and laughs.

    Ini:

    You and your hair lead me to going natural. I looked at your page for a year before I did the big chop in April 2006. I hadn’t been to your page in forever and said to myself she is probably pregnant or have a child by now and look at Jesus girl! You are pregnant and I just want to send you and Adima a big ole BOOM SHACKA LACKA SHACKA LACK CHICKA BOOM!

    Maybe I will run into you in STL one day. From STL but live in Dallas. I will be the Tall, dark-skinned lunatic chasing you down in the store. That could be any of your page stalkers I’m sure so probably won’t do that. Don’t want to scare your baby.
    I am a loc’d sister now. Yay me! INTYWHO, I just say Hey Boo! and congrats

    Kim J

  • Candy

    Hi. I really love your site! But I wanted to comment just to say that my Dad is from St. Thomas (and a Christian). Its kinda rare to find anyone from the Islands in the States, so I’d though I’d give you a shout-out!

  • Malaika I.

    Hi,

    I just stumbled across your blog today in my attempt to find some box braid inspirations. I’ve been natural since 2002, including locs from August 2007 Jan 1 2012. I combed out each & every one & now I’m back to enjoying my loose hair. Needless to say there’s lots of pampering & protection needed so I’ve been on the hunt for inspiration. I absolutely love your blog & it’s now in my favorites list. Thanks for the inspiration šŸ™‚

    P.S. – I’m from Guyana & live in KS so I’m always happy to see another West Indian out here in the Midwest *yay*

  • Tracy

    Hi,
    I was just looking at your video from two years ago! about the baltic amber jewelry and it’s effects in alleviating pain. I am really struggling with chronic tendinitis in my posterior tibial tendon in my foot and really was jazzed about the ankle bracelets you were mentioning. I am seriously considering it for it pain alleviation and anti inflammatory effects. Congrats on your new baby and I have to say……you are totally adorbs. Kinda want to hang out with you! I’m in Chicagoland, ;).
    Best,
    Tracy

  • PJ

    I came across your website, I been thinking about going natural for a few weeks before I actually decided to do so. I made the choice to go for it on my bday in May. Im actually transitioning, instead of doing the bc. Im loving the journey, I know its going to be rough and long journey for me as well, since I have illness, but Im willing to do it and see it out. Glad I came across your blog. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Many Blessings šŸ™‚
