Q:"My hair is really dry it never seems to retain the oils that I put in it.I am not sure what products I can use. What do you suggest?"
A: For me, oils only help hold in the moisture on my hair, they do not add any moisture. That said, you can try to do things to moisturize your hair then think of the oils as a sealant, not as a moisturizer. For moisture I drink a ton of water, use humectant products (be careful, this contributes to frizz), spritz my hair with water, glycerin, conditioners etc, and use shea butter. The oils I do put on my hair are then able to coat the strands and help the moisture from the previously mentioned items stay in my hair.
Hope that helps and Happy Nappying!
