It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t’ve left ya, without a dope vid to step to! LOL! Just got back from an epic trip to the Virgin Islands where my internet connection failed me so here’s a little flashback Weekly Update action for ya.

Products mentions during wash day were
Jamaican Mango and Lime Locking Creme Wax as my “fight the Florida humidity” styling product that necessitated a clarifying wash. First I pre-(sham)poo deep conditioned with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Masque Deep Treatment mixed with coconut cream and sat under the dryer. Then I shampooed with Suave Humectant Shampoo because it contains sodium laureth sulfate, an inexpensive detergent found in many shampoos that is extremely stripping of the hairs oils and products, hence me using it to get rid of the product buildup from the wax product. Last step was to follow up with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative conditioner.
This is entire wardrobe I traveled to the VI with
What’s in my bag for a 2+ week trip to the Virgin Islands? Not much because #minimalistliving #packlight | from top left: Shorts & fuchsia tank to sleep in (tank also wearable in outfit), black tank top, 2 swimsuits, beige tank top, @longtallsallyclothing floral crop jeans | from bottom left: romper hubby made me out of Walmart jumper, white button down ‘boyfriend’ shirt from @oldnavy, b&w strapless tube dress that doubles as a maxi skirt, yellow dress from Old Navy, turquoise racerback maxi dress from Goodwill via Target, a white tank (that I’m traveling in) & jean shorts (also traveling in) | 3 pairs of shoes: black Orthoheel flip flops with built-in arch support because knee problems and they can get wet, Chelsea Flat in ‘cognac’ from Payless (my favorite nude flat for a brown girl) & olive green Birkenstocks (which I’m traveling in). I will rely heavily on my intent toward simplicity, my mix & match skills, washing machines & the occasional loaner from “Mama Boutique” 😂 like for church. Remember now, I’m from the VI so it’s not about styling and profiling with a big hat, sunnies & a fancy (yet totally not functional 😒) bikini & coverup for me. No. It’s about spending quality time with my family, plugging into the source (🌴Virgin Islands = ground zero for me🌺), soaking up my culture and, most importantly, going HOME 🌞⛵🌊🌄. #minimalistchallenge #glamazinilivingwithless #livingwithless #lightenup #340 #visonice #glamazinitravels
aaaaand I honestly didn’t even need all of these items since I didn’t wear some and only wore others once. It’s really about using the washing machines available and getting over the care that you are wearing the same thing over and over. Once you do that your luggage gets lighter and lighter.
