Because Who is Perfect?

If someone made a physical representation of your disabilities what would it look like?  Whoa right?  We all  lack something that keeps us from blending into the masses or impedes us living a “normal” life … it’s just that the majority of us get to hide our disadvantages due to their mental, social, psychological, financial, etc. nature.

And some of us don’t get to.
Because Who is Perfect? Pro Infirmis

This is beautiful.

My brother in law shared this video with my husband and I a few days ago and I had to share it with my Glamazini.com audience (that’s you). As you may (or may not) know, my son was born with Spina Bifida in June of 2012, so the message of this piece really hit home.

According to the video:

Between the perfect mannequins, there will be figures with scoliosis or brittle bone disease modelling the latest fashions. One will have shortened limbs; the other a malformed spine. The campaign has been devised for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by Pro Infirmis, an organisation for the disabled.

My son was born with the most severe form of Spina Bifida and currently has major physical deficiencies. This has made me look at the world through different eyes and has changed who I am on a deep level. This is why this video resonates with me more than it probably ever would have in the past.

Because who is really perfect anyway?
