Hey everyone, hope you’re having a great day. I’m feeling better today, thanks for all the prayers and positive wishes :).
A few weeks ago I received a copy of the new book 10 Easy Steps To Go Natural Without Cutting Your Hair Off! from the author Nik Scott.
I have no issue with cutting my hair clear off but I know that I am not normal. Many women, especially those new to wearing their natural hair, are terrified of changing their hair texture AND length in one fell swoop.
That’s where this book comes in.
The author successfully transitioned to her natural texture without cutting her hair off for just over 2 years then took what she learned and put it in this book. I’m impressed because my attempts to transition without cutting lasted maybe 2-3 months then *snip*snip*, so she really knows what she is talking about LOL.
10 Easy Steps is a quick read at 67 pages with a 26 page appendix offering more information. As the title suggests, it lays out 10 steps to going natural without having to cut all your hair off and start from scratch. Nik covers the structure of hair, the mental component of transitioning, cleaning and care techniques and more; all at a easy to understand level for beginners. It was disconcerting to have an appendix that’s almost 1/3 of the book but even with the extra pages I read the entire thing in a couple days.
Ultimately 10 Easy Steps is a great starter for anyone desiring to keep their length while transitioning to their natural hair texture. The information is all there in one place and would make a great gift. I’m definitely gonna suggest it to everyone who ask me how to go natural and I think I will pass this copy to a family member who I know could use it.
