What’s up ya’ll!
I’m back with another product review, this time of the Cantu Shea Butter Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment.
Check out this swift review video done in under 1 minute!
Once again hubby purchased this after cutting his hair off. I tried it a few times but it was mostly his product so this review consists of mostly his thoughts.
The product purports to help:
- strengthen fragile, weak and brittle hair to stop breakage
- moisturize dry and brittle hair with deep penetrating oils and emollients
- protect hair against heat and styling damage throughout the day
and says it is “great for relaxed, natural, texturized, colored, and permed hair.
Similar to the Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, my husband used this product on his damp, freshly shampooed hair without any other product added. He found it left his hair soft and first application and throughout the day with great sheen and minimal residue. Additionally he liked the light consistency. The smell may be strong for a man, but still pleasant when used in moderation. Lastly I count the ability to pick this up at Walmart as a plus because it’s easy to locate and restock. Hubby enjoyed this product so much that, by the time I got to film the review the container was almost empty lol. See the video if you need proof. He said he would repurchase but was still interested in seeking out 1 product that does all the things above AND gives him the hold he loved so much in the Pantene Curling Custard.
The minimal cons of this product are the lack of hold referenced above and the price. Hubby’s hair was soft and sheeny, but frizzy so he eventually began using other products with hold on top of this product to give him the soft, but curly with sheen look he desires. I’m currently trying out the Coconut Curling Cream by Cantu and that would be an awesome option, also the Pantene Curling Custard works well (which is what hubby used), or even Eco Styler Gel or flaxseed gel depending on your preference of hold firmness. Lastly, this jar cost just under $5 at WalMart and you get 6.1 ounces, whereas with their leave in you get 16 ounces for just under $6. It’s not excruciating but it’s 80¢ an ounce.
Have you used this product and if so, what were your results?
