Tips On Managing Depression + World Suicide Prevention Day


I am always asked for tips on how I manage my depression. I am not a mental health professional, but have dealt with depression for over 2 decades, most of that without medication by choice. Last month, after the passing of Robin Williams, I taped this video as part of my VEDA series to answer some questions and compile tips for managing depression that I am successful with in one place.

It also happens to be September 10th 2014, which is te 11th annualΒ World Suicide Prevention Day.

Each year more than 800,000 people die of suicide worldwide (more than homicide and war combined) and this day is set aside toΒ raise awareness that suicide can be prevented by spreading information, improving education & training, and decreasing the stigma associated with mental health issues.
