I‘m not proud of it but I wasn’t the nicest person to be around at my prior job .
I could blame it on the chronic leg pain, adrenal fatigue, depression, and general ennui … and … I will … but still, the fact remains that I tended to be a loner hermit type for the 2 years I roamed those cubicled halls.
Even then, my coworkers where nice enough to bring in stuff for my last day … and 2 of the items were home-baked . Welp. That was nice.
Then to top it off one of my coworkers (who I actually have a monthly lunch with so she doesn’t count as a victim of of my sullen hermit ways) brought in not one but TWO PIRATE DUCKIES for me!!!!!

*deep cleansing breaths to calm down*
Ok, let me clarify. I’m not sure if she actually brought them in “for me” ’cause AS she was saying she brought them in “as decoration” and I spotted ole dude with the jolly roger hat on, audibly squealed, grabbed him and almost ran away quacking a happy tune. #trustory. If you have no clue why I reacted that way click here, read #1 then come back.
Another coworker also brought me in goodies, a little handwritten note (that I taped in my notebook) and a panda bear for Flickerbug (I’m assuming ’cause what would I do with a panda bear, I’m a grown woman).

So the moral of the story is, even if you’re a funkapuss for 23 months straight people can still be nice to you, you can still make an impact on someone AND someone may pay attention enough to know what you love.
Totally unrelated, I got home the other day and my mother-in-law had dropped off this situation here that I’ve named “afroduck”
It’s a foot tall with wire wings (so not safe right up on baby) and I think s/he is gender-confused because of the heavy mascara and blue bow. I may need (more) therapy.
Anyhoo, people are being nice and generous and all that and I thought I’d share. It’s a blessing.
Francie, Audrey, Christine, Sarah & mother-in-law this smilie is for ya’ll:
Thanks again for brightening my day, I really do appreciate it!
Until next time Glam Fam I wish you
