Last month we packed up the car and drove to Kansas City, Missouri to attend the Spina Bifida Kansas City Education Day! It was a free day-conference and well worth it (honestly I would have paid real talk). And yes, I vlogged our trip and took you guys along. Day one was filled with getting there and lots of barbeque. *oink*
Where were strolling around in
Apparently Oklahoma Joe’s has changed it’s name to
Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que which clearly makes more sense (says the person who eats at Texas Pit BBQ in the Virgin Islands LOL!)
Our hotel was the
Residence Inn Kansas City Overland Park, room was a Studio King.
The food we bought and brought was
Dole Shakers which we were hopeful would let us have our beloved smoothies while out of town far away from a blender and ingredients. Not so. They were … meh … more like cold slushy juice and they didn’t mix well no matter how much we shook and followed the directions. Mega fail. We bought a rotisserie chicken and one of the new Birds Eye Steamfresh Protein Blends for dinner but ended up being full from BBQ and using the chicken for breakfast and the protein blend never got touched. Fail. We packed some of our favorite snacks including Lesser Evil Wasabi Popcorn, Harvest Snaps Snapea Crisps, KIND bars and Trader Joe’s Just Mango Slices. I know you’re wondering what Flickerbug ate? Well he only eats one thing right now so that was super easy to pack, these Gerber Graduates Lil’ Entrées Cheese Ravioli in Tomato Sauce with Mixed Vegetables. The website says “Helps your Toddler master self-feeding” which is a lie from the pits of hell because mine won’t feed himself and he’s 3. :-/ THREE PEOPLE!!! Neurological challenges or naw, y’all pray that I’m released from cheese-ravioli-spoon-feeding hades soon mkay thanks.
