my attititude :o) – Lol
I used to do this little boy’s hair in cornrows – it took him forever to grow enough hair for me to grab – he would come by my house and sometimes wait for me at the bus stop asking if he had enough hair yet.
Finally, the day came that he did – I did his cornrows for about four weeks and then I came home one day and was surprised. His hair was gone – shaved very close. What happened to your hair I asked and he responded, my mother said that once my hair grew I got an attitude, and until I change my attitude I have to keep it cut :o) Poor boy – I tried not to laugh too hard, but did tell him he’d better start acting right :o)

I think natural hair changes nothing. Natural hair reveals the you that was always there waiting to come out.

Natural hair changes the way you look at yourself and the way the rest of the world sees you. Either you embrace it and exude confidence, or you feel ashamed and make other people’s opinions your truth.

Natural hair change(d) my LIFE!!
Seriously, this natural hair journey has brought so much joy into my world in the past 10 years. For instance, this website, you guys (my lovelies) and the experiences I have gained from trail & error in nappyland :). Besides, who else can say they have a photo diary of their life for the past decade on line for the world to see? WOOHOO!! God sure knows what he’s doing when he inspires you to do a thing!

I cut all my hair off when I was 19 and it changed my life. It’s like I was naked before the world and it forced me to accept myself as I looked on the outside. In doing so, it forced me to look inward and realize that the beauty within was the HOT-NESS!!!
I’ve been natural for 14 years and I will never look back. When I want the straights I get a press and in a week I’m washing cuz I want my naps back…just something about that cottony goodness on my head. Hee hee…
I’m such a happy nappy 🙂

Having natural hair helps me believe in me!

…changes/changed my overall perception of myself. Before I went natural, I was one of those religious relaxer-ers (lol) who didn’t feel comfortable unless my hair was long and straight. Since my transition (of my hair and of my mind) I’ve learned how beautiful I really am without hiding behind chemically altered hair!
