Okay, check out my novel …
My best childhood memory of my hair is when my mother took me to get extensions. I was so terrified that she left me over some lady’s house – that when they offered me food and drink – although it was burning up in there and I was straight starving I turned it all down :o)
But when she got through with my cornrows with beads on the ends I was elated. I would swing them, lay my head on my desk at school and let them hang down and put them up in a ponytail. When they got old – I didn’t want to take them out. I kept them in unitl they were floating on my head due to the new growth – lol.
One day my mother told me that I’d better have them braids out of my head when she got home from work or else :o( — So, I took one out and tried to put it back in, it took a few tries but I did it. Before she got home I had re-did my entire head beads and all! – She was so surprised and hence my side hustle ‘doing hair’ began – I was 13 years old ;o)
