So yeah …. I may or may not have not posted on this here blog all of last week … did ya’ll notice?
I got me a perfectly good explanation too … I was sick … so I decided to stay off the grid and feel better. Now I do (sorta), and I wrote a blog post. Like to read it? Here it go:
I was reading blogs a few weeks ago when I read The Cubicle Chicks post about her 2011 Christmas list. I thought I’d drop my own list right here. Before I do, I must admit the concept of a “grown up Christmas list” is relatively new to me. I used to go hard on my list as a kid. Each season started when the Sears Roebuck and Company catalogue showed up in our mailbox (yes, in the Virgin Islands). Once that happened, it was a strategic planning session on my part that begun with reviewing the catalogue from beginning to end several times, marking pages that were of interest, narrowing down the options then ultimately providing my mother with an itemized list of products and page numbers.
Yes, it was that serious EVERY year.
I don’t remember exactly when but somehow that stopped happening by the time I was in highschool and I really didn’t make a list (or even get or expect presents from anyone) until the past 10 years.
I met my husband 10 years ago … and his family is HUGE on cards and gifts for dang near all occasions. It took a while, but now I’m more of a Chrismas gift type of person (and list maker), so with that said, here’s my “I’m grown now” Christmas gift list for 2011:
- A tablet (i.e. a Xoom, a Evo, a Kindle Fire )
- Some rest
- Gift cards to Long Tall Sally, Make Your Own Jeans, Von Maur and Zappos.
- New orthodics #oldPeopleProblems
- A maxiglide(been saying this for years *shrug*)
- A wig that looks like this. KAPOW!
- A fedora (but it’ll have to be larger sized to fit on my head)
So what’s on your list this year? Do you even make a list? Do tell.
