Wednesday’s post (yes I’m still behind lol) means it’s time to talk health and wellness. This time let’s talk snacks! #nomnomnom 🍚
This started out as a review of one of these snacks and turned into a review of FIVE … from the same brand … because they are DELICIOUS! #nomnomnom.
… ehem …
So let’s do it.
Hubby and I stumbled upon the Wasabi Style Buddha Bowl Bonsai from Lesser Evil at HomeGoods, a.k.a. healthy choice mini-meca.
It’s a mix of coconut oil, popcorn and salt that’s USDA Organic, non-GMO project verified and gluten free. We opened the bag on the drive home and could not stop eating them. They’re definitely the strongest flavor of the popcorn snacks I tried from the Lesser Evil brand. Hubby said they’re addictive and we love wasabi so if you do too you will not be disappointed. A photo of the nutrition facts and ingredients is at the bottom of this post.
After such great luck with this random purchase I went a bit Lesser Evil happy during a recent VitaCost.com purchase.
My 2nd favorite flavor is the Aged White Cheddar Chia Pop.
This mix of popcorn, chia powder and aged white cheddar is also USDA Organic, non-GMO project verified and gluten free. It has a mild taste, especially if you’re used to processed cheesy poppycorn snacks. Almost tastes like someone took the cheese off your fancy salad and made your popcorn snack with it. This flavor has been addictive to me. A photo of the nutrition facts and ingredients is at the bottom of the post.
Next up we tried the Super 4 Kale and Roasted Garlic Baked Bean Bites.
So good. Super crunchy and a bit messy to eat because of the “flavor dust” lol. They look like flavored pieces of crunchy pasta noodles sorta kinda. The back of the bag is so chocked full of certifications it made me chuckle (photo of it, nutritional facts and ingredients at the end of this post). This is definitely both my husband and my next favorite flavor. It’s savory and yummy with 3 grams of protein! #nomnomnom
The last 2 products are both Budda Bowl popcorn products. The Himalayan Pink Buddha Bowl:
and the Himalayan Sweetness Buddha Bowl:
both of which were good but not our favorites.
The Himalayan Pink is your basic healthy alternative to a salted popcorn snack that may be laden with a buncha pesticides, fungicides and who knows what other genetic modifications. None of that’s there so, if you’re literally looking for the lesser evil choice in that category, this is it. I felt like the flavor was too mild for my liking, especially with the cheddar chia pop sitting next to it.
The Himalayan Sweetness is your basic healthy alternative to a sweet and salty popcorn snack that may be laden with a buncha pesticides, fungicides, genetic modifications and high fructose corn syrup. That’s not in there so if you like sweet and savory popcorn I recommend this one. I’m not a huge lover of the flavor mostly because it’s mild, sweet popcorn is not my (or hubby’s) thing AND once again, I kept grabbing the other flavors that I preferred.
Basically the Lesser Evil brand of snacks rocked!
You’re getting non-GMO project verified corn (a rare thing nowadays btw) chocked full of anti-oxidants and fiber. You’re getting chia seeds full of Omega 3s, fiber, minerals, Vitamin C and anti-oxidants. You’re getting coconut oil which can help keep weight balanced, fight off infections, reduce cholesterol and provide healthy fats. You’re getting Himalayan Pink Mineral Salt which is the purest form of salt on the planet that can help strengthen bones, lower blood pressure, fight aging, detoxy the body and much more.* If that wasn’t good enough it’s all organic and gluten free.
Definitely the lesser of two evils, great name choice!
