I Want Another Baby But … Spina Bifida

This video was a long time coming and a hard one to make. Funny thing is, after I filmed it I felt better before I even edited and uploaded it. Something about speaking my journey out loud made the load lighter. Since then I’ve gotten SO MANY encouraging and informative comments and message from my Glam Fam and I am forever thankful. It’s my truth … I do want another baby but after my son was born with spina bifida etc. I just … well …

I truly believe that the Lord will not give you more than you can handle.
We contemplated having a second one because of my first. However, we believed that if my second one was on the autism spectrum like my first, we would be better equipped to handle it because we went through it already. We prayed about it for about a month and then let it go. When we got our answer, we proceeded to plan our second one. We are so glad we had him. They are like two peas in a pod (one typical, one atypical). They love each other so much and DS2 really helped DS1 emerge from his shell. They are almost like twins but 2 years apart.

My question is do you want to live your life with fear or with regret? If the answer is neither, then you and hubby pray on it like for real, real. Give it to God and release it.

Just like you, when I got pregnant, I thought everything would be fine. I was 3cm dialated and did not know it girl. Was teaching and carrying on as usual! I had an appointment and found out my situation. I had to do an emergency cerclauge and had my baby at 28 weeks. Had a C-section which was not planned either. My baby was rushed into emergency care and died after a week. I did not get a baby to take home with me, that hurts. I didnot planned on having another child ever in my life! Seven years later, after much encouragement from friends and family and many prayers I gave birth to the most handsome baby ever. I’m glad that i did not missed out on this experience.

You are a child of God and He knows what you can take – just continue to pray and include Him in all your plans. You have a beautiful heart and he will reward you for that.

I have been a Glamazini groupee for at least 6 years and I took a break from social media for about a year. So I was with you while you were prego and then I just came back to your site about a week ago. So I been watching the vlogs like a marathon. Anyhoo, This one right here tho! Wow! My dear, such transparency. I can truly say that I would be a mess too. The first thing I thought of when I saw the vlog was my trip to Washington DC to the March for Life. I remember distinctly a group of Fransciscan monks, barefoot and all earthy, holding signs of children with various special needs and the words read so profoundly, “Thank you Jesus for the gift of Special Needs Children.” It has stuck with me and has been brought back to me though your vlog. It is hard enough with my one child that is healthy but to bear the cross of hospitals and surgeries and what will come, I can only image. You have an amazing strength that only God can give. I thank God for mothers like yourself that don’t give up, even when sometimes it seems that’s your only option. May God’s peace and clarity be with you sis. Its easy for me to say, just trust the Lord, go ahead don’t let fear hold you back, but I know its a process that He has to lead you through. I can only say may our prayers help hold up this cross for you. Thanks for being so REAL.
