Video Of Me In Miss World 1995 Pagaent

Sooooo the other night I was Googling folks when I stumbled upon this situation right here:

BAM!

Miss World 1995

I know I know, you were not ready for all my Fashion Fair Carmen Maranda goodness. Take a minute to collect yourself, I’ll wait.

For those who don’t know, I was Miss American Virgin Islands 1995 and traveled to represent my islands in the Miss World competition that year in Sun City South Africa.  It was the experience of a lifetime! Among all the amazingness I had the opportunity to meet, talk to, shake the hand of and take a picture with Nelson Mandela!

Miss World 1995

Act like that’s not cool, I dare ya! πŸ˜›

It happened 1/2 my life ago and yet, I’ve never seen actual video of the Miss World pageant that aired on the television that year … until now.  Click here to see me during the contestant introductions.

Yes yes … shocking.

Aaaaaaand, if that doesn’t satisfy your appetite for Glamazini in brightly colored clothing prancing on a beach don’t fret, there’s more:

BOOM!

Miss World 1995

Good stuff.

Here is the video of me dancing it out for your viewing pleasure.

I skimmed through the rest of the video and noticed quick shots of my body (in that killer bathing suit that I only WISH I could fit into now) on stage but no great shots of me that I could find. Here’s a shot I found online several years ago. Wow huh? Isn’t life funny. It took EIGHTEEN years for me to finally see what this looked like and all I can say is WOW.

Now I’m inspired!  I told hubby last night that after kids I’m gonna run for Mrs. World which means I’d have to win Mrs. America and Mrs. Missouri America first OR, if I’m back in the Virgin Islands by then, Mrs. U.S. Virgin Islands.  How’s that for a future goal?!  I really enjoyed pageants and would love to get back into them (not to mention back into those bathing suits and high heels … a girl’s got a lot of work to do LOL).  The years of additional life experience under my belt make me a contender.  I’ve been through some things, and the platform availed to you when doing these shows can’t be beat!   In the meantime, I have a couple causes that are near and dear to my heart that I need to be more involved in (more on that soon), so that when I win (smile) I can help lots of people.

Thanks for stopping by and not laughing too hard at my ruffled dress πŸ™‚
