Anyone still there?
First let me say thank you to all the people who have written me asking how I’m doing or just saying hello. I am still in school and only taking 1 class this quarter Thank God!
It is actually Friday June 23rd and I gotta catch up. For the first time ever I have not been taking incessant pictures of EVERY style on my head. I’ve missed styles trust me, but I got some pix for ya’ll and hope you’ll enjoy them.
Oh and I got my ring (the 2nd ring) too since I’ve posted so I’ll dig up some pix of that too! Here we go!

Back to March
I did some twists on Adima and he hated them.
He said he looked too girly, especially ’cause his hair has a tendency to swell, shrink and flip everywhere.
I think he wore these for maybe 1 week max then out they came and I did braids again. You win some, you loose some .

Here I am playing around with wedding styles.
Those are my wedding earrings by the way . I’m definitely gonna wear my hair in twists in some sort of low bun. I’m envisioning smaller twists than this and a neater bun but you get the drift.
Me playing around again with the actual clip I will be wearing in my hair!!!
My hair will be in twists though (’cause I’m going on a cruise right afterward and don’t want it loose) but this type of bun and clip placement is what I’ll be going for.
Btw, here is the 1st set of jewelry I was gonna wear but I’ve decided to go a different way.
The insert is the earrings. I’m trying to sell them so if you want them email me. I had them on ebay for $18 + $4 shipping within the US.
edited 7/6/06: Sold !!!

Me in the kitchen…think this was a week or two with these twists .
It’s so not fuzzy maybe it was a week after all .
O.k. this side is kinda suspect … maybe not .

Adima with a set of braids he just loved! He said to me, “babe, these are wedding braids” .
As men’s hair often does, Adima’s hair is growing like a weed. We’ve learned a lot over these months doing his hair. He’s VERY PICKY but it’s all good in the end and his hair looks nice like this.
LAWD MERCY!!!! lookadat man .

End-o-the-month and the twists are still there. I’d say 4-5 weeks in now.
They always start to look like locs which is fun if you have reached that place where you find beauty in everything God made and aren’t shackled by what people pumped into you most of you life. I love my hair .
April 1, 2006
On April 1st (April fool’s day) Adima surprised me by re-proposing and giving me a new engagement ring! . That morning he came over to “work on my computer”. Here I am right after washing my hair. I was going to get my nails done.
Us before I left. I put my hair in a sloppy puff and left him there. When I got back he was nowhere to be found, there were rose petals on the floor, and a romantic scavenger hunt for me!! The man had picked out my entire outfit and had it hanging there as well. . Finally the hunt ended in a limo coming to the door to take me to a mystery location!!!
Here I am in the limo. I clean up nice huh?
The limo took me to Cardwell’s, and expensive Italian restaurant where Adima was waiting for me at a semi-private table. When the bread was served the ring was in the bread basket!!! He even got back down on 1 knee again! And of course I said *YIPPEE YES YES*
Here we are after leaving Cardwell’s back in the limo. He got tickets to a dance performance and it was great!
You may want to step back from the computer screen now ’cause you may be blinded by the next photo…I warned ya…
THE MAN DID REAL GOOOOOOOOOOD
Zsa Zsa Pinkerella (that’s her name) is a custom made 9×9 mm (3 carat) princess cut pink sapphire ring made of 14k Rose Gold w/ a satin finish. She includes 20 round cut diamonds in the side channels, 2 princess cut diamonds as the side stones and 1 princess cut sapphire as the center stone.
Shortly after that I found the perfect wedding shoes online and bought them!

Guess who turned 30 this year?
Ya’ll God just keeps blessing and blessing and blessing and blessing! This past year has been miraculous and I am so thankful for God’s sustaining, providing, sheltering, loving, giving, chastening hand in my life! I had a big ole weekend long party with friends so here goes!
We’re at TGIFridays Friday night. I got fresh twists in my hair, bout a week old. That’s Lolita sitting next to me.
After proving to the waiter that I was really turning 30 and not 25, he gave me this fabulous balloon hat ! I rocked it all night until I got in the car (’cause it wouldn’t fit ).
After Fridays we all went back to Tangela’s house for a sleepover! Here’s Deepthi and I talking on the phone. I’m in yet another hat … and a homemade hat btw .
Me being goofy (as usual ). My candle was so cute! It said “30, 18 with 12 years experience”.
Stephanie (my future sister-in-law), Tangela (who’s house we’re in), and Lolita.
Me being cute while cutting the cake!
My donkey (from Shrek) slippers. The girls were hating calling them rats but whatever!
So somehow during the pajama contest I ended up winning the category “What The…?!”. Haters on the slippers I tell ya! Haters all of em!
The winners of the pajama contest. From left to right:
Deepthi (You Go Gurl!)
Traina (I Keeps It Holy)
Roshini (What the …?!)
Tangela (Aw Das Cute!)
The next day the guys came over and barbequed for us. It woudn’t be Cinco De Mayo Weekend without a sombrero!

Adima and I on the patio later with everyone else. The weekend was long, tiring and wonderful! God blessed my socks off with this birthday indeed. That night the guys left and we all slept, chatted, played games, whatever.
May 30, 2006
End of the month and the birthday twists are coming down after 5 weeks.
Showing shrinkage and length.
Half way down.
Working on the front.
Now what am I gonna do with this?
I just went to bed. I figured if all else failed I’d just wet it, pull it into a puff like structure and leave the house
Or maybe not…maybe I can wear this out the house right?
But something must be done with the front ’cause it’s a mess.
Well the back is cute but the front is a mess. I was gonna just put conditioner in it right then but I decided not to.
Instead I said a prayer and went to bed (no kidding). I was tired and figured God would guide me in the mernin’

Next morning here I am out of bed.
Shower cap on so I could salvage the twistout and into the shower I go.
Uh….this is a mess…maybe I shoulda wet it after all
But wait! God made a way! I realized all I needed was to tie the front down and everything would be alright
I fluffed after seeing this picture and I felt cute!
Cute cute cute cute cu
te! … you couldn’t tell me nuffin!
So a photoshoot ensued –>
I got in the mirror like Jet(blackkinks) …
(uh, Jetblackkinks who I miss and who needs to email me and let me know she’s alive . Girl where you be? I sent you a card and it came back…call or write or sumthin )
eta: found Jet
& while I’m @ it, I’m putting an APB out on one Delushious …you also must check in at headquarters pronto missy!
Ya’ll I was on fiya!
I was working the camera!
Enough, I gotta go to work.

Alright Adima and I got in our last Black Christian Singles conference at Windermere Baptist Conference Center. Here I am waiting on Adima. My hair is still in the twistout ’cause I just didn’t have the time to do it.
Us @ Windermere on a bench outside the lodge where we stayed.
Us inside the lodge after the opening session and dinner.
June 3, 2006
Me outside the next day with 2 of my three roommates Nicole & Traina.
The conference was fun as usual. So much for singles conferences, onto couples deals from now on
June 7, 2006
My hair stayed in the twistout for almost 3 weeks! Here I am one day on my way to work.
June 8, 2006
Still rocking the twistout, still cute but it’s expanding, can you tell?
June 10, 2006
No more shots of me, but a few of Adima’s current braids.
The back…I’m getting pretty good at these suckas!
Well, what better note to end this update on than my gorgeous hubby-to-be? .
I’m washing tomorrow morning (again, I washed and detangled last week) and may try to take picts but I can’t gaurentee anything. Ya’ll continue to pray for my strength with work, school, wedding, ministry, everything.
Thanks for stopping by!
