In my last hair-related post I showed what became of my hair once I washed after wearing it pressed/flat ironed for 3 weeks. This post is a continuation of sorts, showing the twistout that I kept on my head for WAY longer than I will admit to. #shameful.
I achieved this style by doing large two strand twists on damp hair then putting small rods on the ends. You can see a picture of this in the last hair-related post.
I would re-twist and re-rod nightly if I was feeling spunky, or not if I wasn’t. Sometimes I re-twisted/rodded the entire head, other times just the front and top. Sometimes I spritzed with a fine mister bottle filled with water before I twisted/rodded, other times I didn’t. Some nights I added moisture and shea butter mixed with coconut oil, other nights I didn’t. Sometimes I felt like a nut, sometimes I didn’t.
As you can tell there was no rhyme or reason to this style LOL!
I will share this. I got the best results if I spritzed my hair with water before twisting/rodding and added a little bit of Lottabody Olive Oil Foam Wrap. It also turned out the best if I wasn’t lazy and redid all the twists on my whole head. Big surprise.
Like I said, I rocked this style forever and I’m not telling you all how long forever was (hint: these pictures were taken the last day of my job and I washed my hair less than a week ago #yikes!). You can see my hair was not fully reverted from the press in these shots. I was indeed in love with the fullness of the style after almost a month of wearing it bone straight and limp.
What are your twistout secrets? What is the longest you’ve worn one style in your hair, especially an “out” style?
