I had so much fun doing this post I’ve decided to make it a regular feature. Without further adieu …
… “The last 10 pictures I took with my phone”
Bootleg green tea latte & polish at the nail salon
I take pictures of the strangest things. The cup on the right is my attempt at mimicking the soy green tea latte that I recently discovered at Starbucks. It’s right around $5 for a grande depending on where your purchase, so it’s cost effective to make my own. I learned that they use powdered green tea at Starbucks and I just happen to have a can of Nirvana Matcha* lying around. It’s pretty easy to make.
- Whisk your matcha in a bowl with hot water until super duper frothtastical (follow directions on product basically)
- Add hot water to cup and stir in agave nectar, rice or soy milk or flavored creamer to taste
- Add your frothy matcha on top and stir
The nail polish photo was to add to my checkin on Foursquare yesterday while I got my pedicure done. I got OPI Not Like The Movies on my toes and it was 43 degrees out the morning after so needless to say no one saw my toes. I’m still cute and that’s all that matters.
$3 worth of Goodwill jewelry & another green tea latte
I got that necklace and earrings at the Goodwill for $2 and $1 respectively. #WINNING! My wedding ring is rose gold so this imitation stuff is perfect. I’ve also become quite fond of double necklaces with multiple pendants, so when I saw this one I grabbed it. The top necklace has a disk with a stone. The bottom necklace has a feather and a blue fish (I removed the apple and blue stone with pliers). The earrings are simple and I love them. Oh and … another bootleg latte (see instructions above). My friend gave me that mug years ago. I love it but it’s chipped so I’m in the market for a replacement. If you know of any large cozy drinking vessels worthy of a glamorous diva like myself please do share.
A PANK staple and Let’s turn to the Book of Luck
It’s the little things that tickle me on the inside. I returned a bottle of my beloved Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash to Ulta in favor of purchasing it online (here), and the staple in my receipt was pink. This brought me joy. On the right is a bracelet in the Family Christian Store that .. well … uh … I think that’s supposed to say “Luke 17:6” 😐 The irony of that mistake is not lost on me. We may all need to combine our faith to have this bracelet be uprooted and planted in the sea. #fail. Oh and my polish color is OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous.
Chick salad step by step
Last week I made my favorite chicken salad ever and twitpiced it the entire time. You can find the basic recipe here, but I did a few tweaks.
- Baked chick breast diced with crumbles of turkey bacon
- Celery, water chestnuts and grapes
- Grapes sliced and a Granny Smith apple
- All the above mixed
- Olive oil mayonnaise and greek yogurt
- Added sea salt, pepper, ginger, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce
- Dinner was Hansen’s Natural soda, Terra Chips, Wholly Guacamole, chicken salad & tomatoes on wheat bread and home made gluten-free pasta salad. Needless to say my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I did not finish all of that.
A beautiful day at Whole Foods, a bikini trimmer and toppings at Yo My Goodness
Lately hubby and I have gotten in the habit of going to Whole Foods for lunch. This day we were at the one in Town & Country, MO and it was absolutely beautiful outside so I snapped a picture. We didn’t sit outside because it was super windy, but we did enjoy watching a family of 5 attempt to eat outside and continuously being assaulted by the wind, then having to ultimately come inside. The moral: the day was nice to look at, not so nice to be in LOL!
In the middle is the Gillette Venus disposable bikini trimmer that I saw in a pack of razors at Costco. I was so interested by this contraption (per my hair removal series) that I snapped a photo. I suppose you’re supposed to rake this puppy through the secret place to hopefully keep it a secret? Something like that #kanyeshrug.
The last shot is of the topping bar at Yo My Goodness in St. Charles. Hubby LOVES these yogurt places so we just Google mapped it and found this new spot to try out. If you’ve never been the concept is simple. You pick your own self-serve frozen yogurt flavor, then top it with whatever you’d like and pay by weight. Then eat. Simple.
Well ya’ll, that’s this week in pictures so to speak. I’m in the process of moving my website to a new host so you may see some changes around here shortly, but of course, I’ll keep you all informed of whats going on back here. Please pray that all goes well & have the best weekend everyone!
Until next time Glam Fam I wish you
Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Nappyness,
* Unfortunately I do not believe Nirvana Matcha is still for sale via the website (which is disconcerting huh since the site is still up like it is … but I digress). I know the business owner, so I may be able to get some directly. Otherwise, I will try to find an alternative and add it to this post.
