This is the THIRD time I’ve written this post. I lost it ENTIRELY TWICE yesterday … seriously where is Jesus?! If you’re reading this consider it a mir.a.cle. Anyhoo…
I saw this post on Kandee Johnson’s blog and loved it so I decided to do the same post over here. Without further adieu I present to you
“The last 10 pictures I took with my phone” …
1. My sister-in-law’s wedding dress
My husband’s sister is getting married on Sunday. She stayed with us last night (and maybe tonight, honestly I don’t know). Her groom-to-be swooped in and dropped off their luggage and THE DRESS, then left. I promptly hung THE DRESS up, took this picture of THE DRESS and sent it to my other sister-in-law a.k.a. her sister a.k.a. my bestfriend to tell that I had THE DRESS. I’m relatively certain that the bride-to-be does not read my blog so she won’t see that I have THE DRESS all over the interwebs … but per chance she (you) is (are) reading this … well … uh … yeah
2. My stash of green tea
I was at work Tuesday feeling so. very. sleepy. Since I try to only drink coffee in the AM, I made a cup of green tea for a natural pick-me-up. I took this picture because @ThatNoahGuy saw my #greentea tweet and sent me a picture of the fancy blueberry green tea he was drinking at the same time. Aw, social media. Changing lives with groundbreaking tweets like these.
3. Glamazini being cute
I was on my way out to run errands in my Natural Hair Cute-Tees tank and custom Erthtonez VitaMalt bottle cap earrings when I realized I was cute and felt all of twitter needed to know this important breaking news. Notice the eyebrow, swag in the stance and mild stank look on my face, punctuating the fact I was feeling myself. Aw, social media, Changing lives with groundbreaking … well, you get the point.
4. Card sorting and a bowl of green stuff
I’m thinking of a master plan for Glamazini.com. To the end I recently did a card sort and documented the process on my other blog, SocialMediaLearningCurve.com. You can read all about it here AND find out what’s in the bowl LOL.
5. The red cups
As you all know, I had a swanktastical Glam Fam Get Together this past Sunday. You can see the pictures here. While planning the logistics with the owner of Naturally, I sent her a picture of the red cups I already owned. I have a gazillion of them from Costco and free is always the way to go. With ninja-esque SWIFTNESS she replied with a diplomatic yet decisive REJECTION of my free liquid containers due to their low swank-factor. It’s hard out here ya’ll.
6. The swankiest plastic cutlery ever
In stark contrast to their less swanked up counterparts, these plastic silver utensils were immediately accepted into the fold for Sunday’s event due to their evident HIGH swank-quotient. Classism is real people.
7. What I’m reading
I usually share what I’m reading on this blog, but this time I opted to share this book on my new blog, SocialMediaLearningCurve.com, because it seemed to fit better there. You can read about it here.
8. Bootleg chocolate sorbet
I made this sorbet out of chocolate Zico coconut water. Here’s how:
- Buy choco late Zico coconut water
- Freeze coconut water uncovered in a shallow pan, like a pie plate
- Break into pieces and blend until smooth. Add agave nectar and/or rice milk if desired
9. A skirt I bought to match my Birkenstocks
Who would’ve thunk it (yes thunk it). THE GLAMAZINI (yes I put that in all caps, what? it’s my blog lol) is reduced to buying clothing to pair with, what could arguably be the ugliest shoes on the planet (2nd only to Dansko clogs), Birkenstocks. It’s a sad sad day in Glamunda. Here’s the dealio Glam Fam: when you get to be my age (hee) and your legs hurt like mine do you be like (yes you be like) “BUMP ALL THIS GLAM CRAP! Find me some comfortable shoes STAT!” … ehem … and things of that nature. As you can see, this skirt from my beloved TJ Maxx matches perfectly with my favorite green roman soldier Birkenstock situations. It is what it is.
10. Wangs and a gyro (yes wangs)
Thank God for chicken. He didn’t have to do it but he did. Hubby and I rolled out to our new favorite spot, 54th Street Grille, for an impromptu date dinner on the same night as #9. I had the wings and he had a gyro with asparagus. I took these pictures to add to my Foursquare checkin because my name is Roshini and I am social media crackhead. Hi Roshini! Honestly the wings and gyro were not that great. If you go to 54th Street Grille we can vouch for the burgers, sliders, steaks and cajun sirloin sandwich. Deliciousness! #nomnomnom
I made it to the end of this post for the 3rd time. Hope you enjoyed it and had as much fun reading as I did writing (and goofing off on the twitter while re-writing and re-re-writing LOL!). I may do this sort of post again.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Until next time Glam Fam I wish you
