I am re-doing Happy Black Woman’s 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge. It is a “virtual life coaching experience that will equip you with all the tools you need to reset your life”.
Day 21 • Ditch TV for 24 Hours
This is an easy one because I can go days lately without watching the television. Last year my DVR died and, since all I really watch is DVR’d shows, it was easy to limit my TV time by just not setting all the timers that I previously had. I find not watching TV on a work night brings the best outcome for me because time is so limited as it is.
Day 22 • Purge Negative People from Your Life
Once again I got nothing on this one because I already do this. People on FaceBook laugh because I sometimes announce when the ax is gonna drop and they come in and comment like “*whew* I made it”. I can’t be bothered.
Day 23 • Find a Community to Support Your Goals
Last time I joined a travel group on Meetup.combut have not been able to avail myself to any of the trips because I’m so busy. Honestly I think it was just a knee-jerk reaction to doing something for this challenge but now that I’m clearer-thinking I believe I will unjoin that group and focus.
This time I will say that I have, and continue to amass, a support group willing to help me in my goal of becoming a professional blogger/vlogger. I have met some awesome blogger friends, vlogger friends and have developers, and even family helping me with aspects of this business that are not my gift. That is my community toward this specific goal.
Day 24 • Ask for Help. Offer Help.
I have and continue to do this. As mentioned, I have several people willing to help me achieve my focused goal, specifically doing or advising me on things that I am not gifted in. I have asked for help from a developer who is willing to do a bi-weekly call with me to assist in my blog migration and a family member who is WAY more analytical that I to help manage my advertisements. I have also asked lots of information from fellow bloggers as well as a social media manager who has shared how she landed that job. I have offered my help in kind, most recently by offering to be a social media manager for a friend’s company to learn the ropes.
Day 25 • Stop Complaining for 24 Hours
Shoo, between therapy, this challenge, getting more sleep, eating better, reading incredible books etc. I don’t know what I have to complain about. Life has been awesome in the meantime, but I will do this on purpose for 1 day anyway (even though lately I really think I haven’t been complaining much).
