I stand 6 foot 1 inch tall, been up here since age 19 (6 foot by age 12 btw #giraffelife). Due to this I often find it difficult to find what I’m looking for in the fashion department.
Why is it so hard to find a monkey blasted ROMPER made for a tall girl?!! WHY JESUS!!
*deep cleansing breaths*
Before we proceed let’s have a quick Roshini-to-English lesson. What am I calling a jumper versus a romper? Glad you asked.
1. one-piece garment combining a shirt and long pant
2. a long pant adult onesie
1. a one-piece garment combining a shirt and short pant
2. a short pant adult onesie
Soooooo in my mind a jumper is a romper with long pants and a romper is a jumper with short pants and onesie is a garment worn by babies unless it’s worn by Roshini and then we call it fashion.
Thank me later.
Anyhoo … what is the point of this post you ask? This is:
Hubby took this jumper I bought off clearance at Wally world:
and made me this romper that I’ve basically been wearing every single day for the past 2 months:
(That’s Lisa btw. She is an internet friend turned real friend and I plan on keeping her *mwah*)
The original jumper did not fit me well but that was the point, I bought it to be transformed. A quick hem of the pants into shorts and removal of all the rouching and tassel action on the shoulders and my favorite article of clothing has been born.
I can’t stop wearing this thing, especially since, unlike every other romper I’ve tried on my 6 foot 1 inch frame, it actually fits and is not trying to stop me having any more children (read into that what you may but it’s a real problem people a real flippin problem #longtorsodowhatkids).
Sooo, if you’re tall and in the market for a jumper try the sites I mentioned above. If you’re tall and in the market for a romper good luck (lol), try Asos but get your duckets in a row, OR buy you a oversized jumper from your favorite clearance rack and get to stitching*.
Thank me later.
What do you call a romper? What about a jumper? A jumpsuit? An overall? Let me know in the comments below.
* My husband is not available to stitch you a romper, get your own husband … and your own onesie … uh … romper.
