Massive List Of Songs to Wake Up To

With all the options available, who wants to wake up to a beeping alarm nowadays?

I know I don’t.

Mornings are hard enough for me as it is (I’m not a morning person), so I try to start my mind off right by waking up to the song of my choice. Right now my favorite way to do so is via theย Sleep Bot app on Android. ย Not only does this beauty track the amount of sleep you are getting (my initial purpose for downloading it over a year ago), but it turns your entire phone to airplane mode while you’re asleep, provides tips to maximize your sleep, and best yet, allows you to wake up to the song of your choosing! ย What’s not to love?

I’m jumpy, so I tend to like to wake up to calmer songs. I’ll make a “Songs to Get Ready To” list shortly with more of the hype it up type tunes.

Here is a list of songs to wake up to:

Nice. Although I don’t know most of these songs, I absolutely love the diversity of your playlist. This is a very good idea for I am very much a light sleeper, and at times, being jolted out of my sleep/dreams is not cool.

That Mandisa song would startle the living daylights out of me! LOL! That will have to be added to my “Songs to Get Ready To” list ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not watching Miss Representation, didn’t have any plans to specifically address Lifeclass topics unless I was inspired to. I am watching every day though ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, I forgot to mention “Stronger” by Mandisa when you are having some down days. It picks me up when I go through my bouts. However, caution, it is upbeat.

Great choices, thanks for sharing! They are definitely more upbeat that I could wake up to but I’ll definitely be adding these to my “Songs to Get Ready To” list. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would totally sleep through Closer. I love the song but I need something to SCARE me out of bed. LOL I would have the song…”All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled. That song would make roll out of bed and jump to my grind!

Love Adele! Pavarotti is always a yes. But November Rain?! Don’t get me wrong. I used to love me some G&R back in the day (Woah, woah woah, sweet child of mi-yine!), but I don’t think I’d want to wake up to them, lol!

      • Tanya

I Sowwy. Just saying. Like I said, I used to love me some Guns and Roses. ;-D That particular song is just a little heavy for me at 5:30 am. But then, it is on your list, not mine, so I can’t say too much. Loved some of the others, though! ;-D

I don’t have a wake up playlist. I have work out playlists and playlists to fall asleep to, but it sounds like a good idea so I’m going to try it with:

    1.) How Great Thou Art
2.) Shania Twain- When you Kiss Me
3.) I Only Have Eyes for You- The Complexions- A Bronx Tale version
    4. ) Fly Me to The Moon- Tony Bennet
5.) Goodbye My Lover- James Blunt
    6.) Natural Mystic- Bob Marley
    7.) Little Wing – Hendrix
8.) Sun is Shining- Bob Marley
9.) Highway 20 Ride- Zac Brown Band
    10.) Miguel- Sure Thing
    11.) Like a Stone- Audioslave

  • Me

Well, I’m a very heavy sleeper so most of my songs are meant to energize me out of bed. Plus I try to stick with gospel because I’m bad at daily prayer, so this is one way I make up for it by trying to start the day off with positive messages. And finally, lately I’ve preferred the less gospel-y gospel songs–i.e. songs that don’t really come off as gospel unless you listen to the lyrics, so I’m giving you my list of the CD I’ve been waking up to for the past 4+ years, and the mix I’ve been putting together for my soon to come morning inspiration.

Old CD (the titles may be totally wrong):
We Fall Down (but we get up)
    How Excellent
    Speak Lord
He’s Not on His Knees Yet
    I Need You to Survive
    Order My Steps
    In the Upper Room
    He’s Never Failed Me Yet
    Alabaster Box
    Open My Heart
God’s Got it All in Control
    I Need You Now
    Still I Rise
    99 & a Half
    Take My Hand Precious Lord

    New CD contenders:
    Get Up – Mary Mary
When I Wake Up – Jill Scott
Gotta Get Up – Jill Scott
    I Won’t Complain – Rev. Paul Jones
    Optimistic – Sounds of Blackness
In the Morning – Mary Mary
God Has Smiled on Me – Mary Mary
    Rain On Me – Tamia
You Will Know – Stevie Wonder
    Home – Brian McKnight
