We Take So Much For Granted

This a snippet from one of my recent SHINE Group Coaching calls!
SHINE Group Coaching was birthed out of the overwhelming request of women just like you for me to coach others to show up in their lives with more intention.

“We are not promised tomorrow” is a sentiment my mother has voiced my entire life.

And even if we are blessed enough to be here tomorrow, we are not promised an opportune mix of events. I’m sitting in a house with air conditioning, on a sunny day with minimal problems. We much more grateful than we are and we need to be way more active in these moments that we have.

We take so much for granted.

We wake up, there’s food in the fridge and our bodies are able to move and function. I went to Atlanta and when I flew back home I could not walk the next day. Now that I can move there’s a pep in my step because I’m opening my eyes every morning thanking God for the fact that I can walk.

It’s time we reframe our entire perspective. It doesn’t have to be like this.

There will be a day when I’m not here anymore and so the fact that I’m sitting here right now is something to be cherished and used intentionally.

I’m starting to understand when God talks about it is “our reasonable service”, because it truly does not have to be this way. There are people that wake up in the morning, walk out into the world, and never come back home. Those people had things they were putting off, an impact that they wanted to make, and they did not make it. I often ask myself, if I were to die today would I be content with the impact that I have made so far? The answer has made me push myself out into the world, create content, offer to coach, reach out to a friend, and be more courageous.

I know it’s impossible to do everything you intend but I’m also aware that every moment is a gift, and when the gifts are all aligned and real good my intention is to not take them for granted.
