Day 5 we were in Puerto Vallarta, our last port.
The alarm went off at 7:45AM and I felt like it was the end of the world Β Β  I was so tired!
We got up, got dressed, ate breakfast in the room, and head out to meet the tour on the dock by 9:15 AM ship time (11:15 AM Puerto Vallarta time).Β  This tour was through RCI: Las Caletas Hideaway. (The actual tour was through Vallarta Adventures).
Once we were off the ship we met our guide, Victor, immediatly on the dock.Β  After a short stroll through tented shops (I even saw massage tables) we were at the pier for boat IV, which was the boat our tour was on.

Once our entire group had gathered, we were given boarding passes, briefed on some details and were on the boat in no time flat.Β  It was a really nice cataman too, so that made it even better!Β  Victor and crew toured us along the coast of Puerto Vallarta and showed us some swanky homes.

Puerto Vallarta strikes me as having much more money than our prior ports: Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan.
Funny story:
There was a couple from DC on our tour with us who we were speaking to throughout the boat ride.Β  At one point the tour guide was pointing out some buildings on the hillside and Adima and I were not getting up to look. The lady from the couple came over to us VERY excited and said “OMG! You HAVE to see this! It’s an amazing restaurant on a cliff overlooking the water with tiers going down the mountain!!”Β  I had already taken a quick peek before and all I’d seen was a dark thatched roof building on the hill but since she seemed so extra excited Adima and I got up and went to the other side of the boat to see what she was talking about…and guess what? It was the dark thatched roof building on the hill .Β  LOL!Β  I’m telling you this being from the Virgin Islands will bring out the snob in you so fast, but we didnt’ tell her that; we ‘ooooohed’ and ‘aaaaaaahed’ real good so she wouldn’t think we were crazy, but on our way back to our seats Adima goes “Shoo, your aunt’s house is better than that!” This man is getting bougie about his islands I tell ya!
After about an hour or more on the catamaran (with an open bar I might add ), we arrived at Las Caletas (but not after the crew danced for us 1 by 1 and LAWD was that too funny! ).

Adima wanted to do the 1st time scuba diver activity (that started immediately) so that meant that we spent the majority of our time on the island (on our anniversary) separate.Β  BOO! Β  I wish they had made the activity timeline clearer while we were on the boat because that could have been avoided if I’d scheduled my massage later but we did not know until litterally when we docked and all the massage times had filled up.Β  BOO. OOO. OOO!!!
I got off the boat (sans husband of 4 years ) and went straight to lunch.

It was great, a BREATHTAKING table right on the water

BUT did I mention that I was BY MYSELF!!Β  OH IT WAS THE WORST PAIN EVER!!
Β
After lunch, I had a 1 hour massage at the hilltop spa for 625 pessos ($50) which almost made up for the fact that I had not seen my husband in 2 hours (almost).Β  Incredible!
I planned on swimming afterward but the water was WAY to cold for me so I spent the remainder of the time (approximately 45 minutes) laying in a hammock.

When I finally did spot my (gorgeous) husband strolling up the beach (he’d just eaten by himself ) I flagged him down then watched him do some funny swimming drills while I contemplated the abundance of nothing to do from the hammock.
Note #18:
Our RCI excursion said 7 hours but it was really more like under 5 hours real time (approximately 9:45AM – 2:15PM ship time).Β  NOT COOL!Β  I can’t for the life of me figure out how someone can mistake 7 hours with 4.Β  Shiesters! Β  Boo with stanky sprinkles on top!

After leaving the beautiful Las Caletas, we had an “amusing” 45 minute ride back to the dock complete with crossdressing mexicans singing!

Then Adima got stalked by a vender (literally, dude followed us from his table down the dock and snuck up on us like a ninja … nearly scared the living daylights out of us ’cause we’re both over 6 feet and he know we couldn’t see that short man coming! ).Β  Eventually hubby went back and haggled us a bracelet and a couple rings while I watched the sunset behind our ship.

Now I’m back in the room writing with pen and and paper because my discounted internet cafe minutes have ran out (got a coupon ’cause of the platinum Crown & Anchor status dealy).Β  Every other post after this will not be written on the ship because…well … pen and paper SUCKS! Β  Wish me luck with the Day 6 & 7 posts and here’s a nice photo or 2 of us at dinner on our anniversary to distract you:
